Jonathan Leloux

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Jonathan holds a Mining and Geology Engineering Degree from Faculté Poytechnique de Mons – Université de Mons, Belgium, and a PhD in solar photovoltaic energy from Instituto de Energía Solar – Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (IES-UPM), Spain.

He possesses 16 years of experience in the field of solar energy. His past experience includes Technology and Engineering Manager at Fotosolar – EDF Energies Nouvelles, Researcher at IES-UPM, Co-Founder and CEO at WebPV, and Freelance Consultant.

His expertise includes PV systems, PV plants, residential PV, BIPV, bifacial PV, CPV, fault diagnosis, and solar resource assessment.

He has participated in research projects at national and international levels. He is the leader of Work Group 5: PV in grids in the EU COST research project Pearl PV. He is also the leader of Work Package 7: Collaborative modelling & monitoring platform of H2020 EU research project SERENDI-PV.

He is a participant to IEA PVPS Task 15: BIPV.

He is the author of several dozens of scientific publications, communications and patents on solar energy.

Jesús holds an Aeronautical Engineering Degree from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

He has been working for more than 20 years in the field of aeronautics, where he has accumulated high-level expertise and skills in 3D modelling, energy management and storage, and programming, which he now applies to the field of solar energy.

His past experience includes Project Manager and Research Manager at Airbus.

He possesses more than 10 years of experience in the field of solar energy.

He expertise includes advanced 3D modelling applied to complex PV shading losses and bifacial energy gain, as well as energy management and storage.

BABACAR SARR

R&D Engineer & Solar Data Expert

Babacar Sarr received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2012 and his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in Energy systems from Université de Bordeaux, France in 2014.

He possesses more than 8 years of experience in the field of solar energy and is specialized in Fault detection modeling, performance assessment, solar resource assessment, and products development for PV systems.

From 2014 to 2019, he worked as a solar R&D research engineer at 3E focusing on the development of products. In January 2020, he joined Altran Belgium Group with the purpose to help on reinforcing their digital transformation strategy.

Babacar joined Lucisun in August 2020 and is now working on the development of new solar product services with a focus on technologies in the PV sector such as Bifacial PV, BIPV, and collective self-consumption modeling. As an engineer working in the R&D field, Babacar developed skills in building mature products used by actors in the energy industry and is in charge of building our product strategy at LuciSun.

CHRISTIAN A. GUEYMARD

Solar Resource Expert

Chris holds a BSc in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from ESTP Engineering College of Paris, France, an MSc in Applied Ecology from Université de Montpellier, France, an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Federal Polytechnic College of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a PhD in solar energy from the University of Montreal, Canada.

He has accumulated more than 45 years of experience in solar resource assessment, solar radiation modeling, radiometry, albedometry, atmospheric sciences, and various solar energy applications.

He has founded Solar Consulting Services after years of experience as a Research Scientist at the Florida Solar Energy Center and a close collaborator of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

He is internationally recognized as a leading expert in many aspects of solar radiation measurement and modeling. In particular, he is known for his development of the SMARTS radiation model, which is widely used in various solar applications, most notoriously as the foundation of prominent ASTM and IEC spectral irradiance standards.

He has participated in various IEA Tasks over the years, and is now actively engaged in the current IEA PVPS Task 16 on “Solar resource for high penetration and large-scale applications.”

He has published a large number of scientific publications, including book chapters, and has been a long-time Associate Editor for the Solar Energy scientific journal.

IBRAHIM EL BOUJDAINI

Solar Energy Engineer

Ibrahim holds a degree in Energy Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles – Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). During his master thesis, he analyzed the impact of the operating temperature of solar inverters on the performance of the photovoltaic systems located on the rooftops of the campus of ULB. Ibrahim is working as a solar energy engineer on several projects including R&D, data analytics, product development and consulting.

Ibrahim holds a degree in Energy Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles – Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). R&D Engineer

Simone holds a Master’s Degree in Physics from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Università La Sapienza in Rome. His past experience includes internships in the fusion energy domain, at the ENEA laboratory in Frascati, and the Swiss Plasma Center in Switzerland, Lausanne. During his master’s thesis, he analyzed the impact of nitrogen injection in the fusion device machine TCV in Lausanne. Simone joined LuciSun in 2022 and works as an R&D engineer on several topics, including PV modeling, PV economics, and energy communities. He is also contributing to product development and project management, and he is actively involved in the technical coordination of EU-funded research projects.
